My solo show "Le Miroir Capricieux" opened at the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges on November 11th and runs until January 23, 2019. I'm thrilled that it will be on for that length of time. The installation is beautiful and the opening was a success thanks to the experienced museum team of Chantal Séguin, Curator, Michel Morrisette, Caroline Duguay and Pascale Jeaurond-Lajoie.
This is the fun poster the musée prepared for the exhibition.
So what's it all about? The answer isn't Alfie. A snippet of my artist statement reveals,
"I am the capricious (mischievous) mirror who responds visually to the world’s craziness. My preoccupations do not always simmer at a conscious level. At times I begin working innocently enough with no particular idea in mind but before long the work evolves into a multilayered tapestry of emotions and impossible scenarios. People and situations are never what they seem at first glance. Eventually, each individual reveals a never-ending, multi-layered story. Depending on the situation or circumstance, everyone can figuratively morph into something else, typically a bizarre animal hybrid, mythical being, or deity. Fantastical views of life, death, eroticism, burlesque grotesqueries, violence and tenderness are all part of humanity’s narrative."
Here are a few photos of part of the installation...

I will be giving an artist-talk on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 from 2 pm to 4 pm. The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional Museum is located at 431 Saint-Charles Avenue, Vaudreuil-Dorion. Everyone is welcome to attend and I hope many of you will make the trek to this beautiful outlying region of Montreal. Usual museum entrance fees apply. I look forward to discussing my work with you!
